Q: What should I expect during a boudoir session? 
Your boudoir experience at Emerald Studios begins with a complimentary consultation. During this meeting, you’ll have the chance to see our beautiful studio, meet your photographer, and ask any questions you may have. On the day of your session, we’ll start with professional hair and makeup to make sure you feel confident and pampered. Faith will guide you through each pose, making sure you feel comfortable and look your best, all while creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Q: Do I need to have experience with posing? 
Not at all! Many clients feel nervous about posing, but rest assured, Faith is an expert at directing poses to flatter your body type and personality. She will guide you through every step, so you don’t need to worry about knowing how to pose.

Q: What should I wear, and do you provide wardrobe options?
We’ll discuss wardrobe during your consultation, but what you wear is entirely up to you and how you want to feel during the session. Lingerie is not required—many women opt for gowns, wraps, or personal pieces that make them feel amazing.  If you’re interested in lingerie, you can bring your own or shop in our in studio lingerie boutique, Philocaly Lingerie Boutique, which offers a curated selection of beautiful, French-inspired lingerie. And when you book a session with us you get a 30% discount!

Q: Will my photos be kept private?
Your privacy is our top priority. Your images will never be shared without your explicit permission, and we take special care to ensure your session remains completely private. Whether you prefer a private reveal or want to keep the images strictly for yourself, we honor your wishes.​

Q: Do I need to be a specific size or shape for a boudoir session?
Not at all! Boudoir photography is for women of all shapes, sizes, and ages. Our goal is to celebrate your unique beauty and make you feel empowered, confident, and comfortable in your skin, no matter your body type.​

Q: How much editing or retouching will be done on my photos?
We provide light retouching to enhance your natural beauty without changing who you are. Our goal is to ensure you look your best while still looking like *you*. During the consultation, we’ll discuss your preferences for editing, whether you prefer a natural look or something more polished. All the editing is done in house by your photographer or our female staff.

Q: How much should I plan to invest in a session?
All sessions include a pre-session consultation, professional hair and makeup, and a private ordering appointment. Sessions begin at $425, and most clients choose to invest $1,000 or more in their final images and products. We do not have a minimum order and full pricing will be discussed at your consultation so there are no surprises.

Q: How far in advance should I book? 
We recommend booking your session 1-2 months in advance to ensure availability, especially if you're preparing for a special occasion. Keep in mind that custom products like albums and wall art can take up to 8 weeks to design and produce.

Q: Can I customize my session?
Yes! We love tailoring each session to fit your unique style and personality. We have done boudoir sessions in barns, gardens, in the middle of fields with cars, motorcycles and even horses. Whether you want a specific theme, mood, or look, we’re here to collaborate with you to create a truly personalized experience.

Q: What happens if I’m nervous or uncomfortable during the shoot?
Feeling nervous is completely normal! Our job is to make sure you feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. Faith will be there to guide you, offer encouragement, and make the experience fun and enjoyable. We’ve got you covered every step of the way!

Q: Do you provide hair and makeup services?
Yes! Professional hair and makeup are included in every session, provided by our talented makeup artists with over 20+ years of experience. This service is designed to make you feel your best, enhancing your natural beauty and giving you an extra boost of confidence.

Q: What products can I order after the session?
You’ll have the option to order a variety of products, including custom albums, wall art, digital files, and more. During your private ordering appointment, we’ll go through all the options and help you select the best way to display and enjoy your beautiful images.​

Q: Where does the session take place?
Sessions typically take place in our 2,000-square-foot private studio in Kennewick, WA unless we have decided something else during your consultation. The studio space is designed to provide a luxurious, comfortable environment where you can relax and feel fabulous.

Q: How do I schedule a session? 
The first step is to book a complimentary consultation. This meeting gives you the chance to see the studio, meet your photographer, and ask any questions you may have. There’s no obligation to book after the consultation—it’s purely for you to gather information and feel comfortable. If you're out of town, we can schedule a virtual consultation.

Q: Do you photograph couples or men’s boudoir?
At Emerald Studios, we specialize in women’s portraiture and do not offer sessions for men or couples boudoir. Our focus is on creating a personalized, empowering experience exclusively for women to celebrate their unique beauty and confidence.

Q: Do you offer payment plans or financing options?  
Yes, we do offer Afterpay as a financing option through Square! This allows you to break down the cost of your session and products into manageable payments. The only requirement to book is the $425 reservation fee, and Afterpay can be used for the remaining balance during your ordering appointment, where you'll decide what products you'd like to purchase. This gives you the flexibility to choose what works best for you.

Q: What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy? Life happens! We understand that sometimes plans change. We’ll discuss our cancellation and rescheduling policy during your consultation to make sure you feel secure in booking your session.

Q: Can I bring a friend for support?While we don’t allow friends to accompany you to the actual session, you are welcome to bring a friend or significant other to the reveal and ordering appointment. Having someone you trust during this exciting moment can make the experience even more special.

Q: Should I lose weight before I schedule a session? Absolutely not! Boudoir is about celebrating who you are right now. Many women think they need to be at their "ideal weight" to feel confident, but in reality, the experience itself helps boost your confidence. We’re here to show you how beautiful you already are!

Q: How do I know if I’ll be comfortable during the session?
